*Typically Full Service Groomings take between 2hrs TO 3hrs. Depending on the breed, size, and coat condition. Larger pets may take between 3hrs. to 4hrs. again depending on the size and coat condition.

**We Charge An $EXTRA$ Fee If We Have To De-Flea Your Pet**

I DO NOT provide flea"DIP" Services!

Dips are pesticides that are harmful to the pets as well as the groomer. Businesses have to hold a pesticide license to give this service. There are "Organic Flea Dips" but I have not found them to be any more effective than the common "Flea Shampoo" you get at any store. If your pet has come in contact with fleas and I see any number of fleas I will give your pet a flea shampoo bath and I have the right to include a de-fleaing fee for this service. AS A RULE I *DO NOT * WELCOME PETS WITH FLEAS.  You would not want your pet to catch these unnecessarily so it is important for all pet owners to provide proper flea preventatives.

Care at Home:

Brushing and bathing is an important part of your pets grooming. The correct techniques will help your pet's coat and skin. Techniques at home as well as at The Grooming Salon will provide a better Growing Experience for your pet.

We have brochures on Pet Care and will be more than happy to help you choose the best tools for your pet's coat type. Please feel free to ask one of us to help you learn the proper way to brush and bathe your pet at home. Preparing for your pets first visit or next visit will help decrease the stress on your pet and help us to make their experience pleasant and soothing. The correct brushing and bathing will also create a greater bond between you and your pet. Trust is always the first issue with old or new pets. Make it a pleasant time to relax *NOT PLAY TIME*. Your pets first brushing and bathing experience can be the breaking point if it becomes a game.

If it feels challenging please call us and set up a time to learn the techniques. It helps your pets, you, and your groomer to make the experience the best for us all.
Striving to provide you with quality pet grooming you and your pet deserve.

Mat Removal:

Pets with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Mats left in a pet's coat only grow tighter, and can strangle the pets skin, or eventually tear it open. If your pet is to matted I do not wish to cause serious or unnecessary stress to your pet, and will not continually de-mat your pet for you. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pets coat to be completely shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat there is a greater chance for moles, loose skin or sores that can become irritated or even be nicked on accident. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pets skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow. Torn skin from mats can also harbor maggots.  Many different skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process may not become noticeable until after their grooming.

After effects of Matt removal process can include:

Itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to re-grow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently enough to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavior changes.

Prevention is the best defense against matting by scheduling regular grooming appointments. I reserve the right to include an extra charge for dematting.
